Each cruise ship visit is a special event for Cherbourg that organizes many  entertainments for the cruise passengers :

Besides, Cherbourg plans a special event named "Fête z'escale" for Sunday calls. It takes place in Cherbourg city centre providing shows, music exhibitions, games and food court. In 2011, this event is planned twice : on the 14th of August and on the 11th of December.
